Welcome to First Coast Autism
First Coast Autism is an agency dedicated to the practice of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Our team of providers include Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA), Board Certified assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBA) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT). These designations by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board are the most common and well-recognized providers of ABA therapy for individuals with an autism spectrum diagnosis.
Applied Behavior Analysis has been scientifically validated through numerous studies as an effective and lasting therapeutic intervention and support system for many individuals with an ASD diagnosis. We provide ABA services within home, school and community settings, depending on an individual's current needs. We collaborate with all other professionals and caregivers involved with our clients to bring about the best opportunity for efficient and lasting behavior change.
Services are often provided in an intensive format of 20 to 40 hours per week, based on a multitude of factors specific to each client. Goals are established and prioritized with input from the client, family and other caregivers to implement supports and interventions that will most positively impact overall quality of life. Training is provided to parents, caregivers and others to bring about the greatest likelihood of meaningful skill acquisition and problem behavior reduction.
Our service providers bring a wide array of professional experiences in addition to their education and training as behavioral professionals. Some of these include traditional school teachers, special education teachers, Montessori-trained teachers, school administrators, and clinical therapists and supervisors. Some have been personally touched by an autism diagnosis within their family, while others were driven to the field through different motivations. One thing is generally presumed; the passion to take this wonderful knowledge of ABA and enhance the lives of others is prevalent among behavioral therapists.
